Greetings,
I am a cultural historian of the ancient Mediterranean, working primarily in the late antique east. My research focuses on issues of religious diversity and the strategies utilized in constructing social boundaries, for example, through homilies, hymns, architectural programs, and historiography. I am also interested in the role of memory and topography in the creation of Christian landscapes. My current book project, entitled Constantinople: Ritual, Violence, and Memory in the Making of a Christian Imperial Capital, examines the social processes that contributed to the transformation of late antique religious life. |
